Show your support for the Arts in BC!
  • The arts are an incredibly important part of my life, and if you’ve found my site, odds are they are a vital element of yours as well.  Over two years, the BC government plans to cut support to the arts by 90%, which would be devestating to our province.YouTube Preview Image

I hope you’ll join me in calling out for more arts funding in BC.  Send this YouTube video to all of your friends (c’mon it’s really funny if nothing else), and write a letter to a few of the folks at the legislature in Victoria.

These days we are all very focused on how our elected officials are spending our tax dollars, and rightfully so.  Many statistics show that our province gets an impressive return on it’s investment to the arts which helps to keep our fragile economy running smoothly.  I’m sure you’ve heard the numbers before, but in case you haven’t, do a bit of reading at the Alliance For Arts And Culture’s website here.  No other province in Canada has looked at arts cuts as a means to end the recession, with Ontario considering massive tax breaks for the performing arts as a way to stimulate their economy, one that is in far rougher shape than BC’s.

Click here to send an email to the Premier, the Ministers for Arts & Gaming, and your local MLA to let them know that a BC without the arts is certainly not the best place on earth.

Another great way to show your support is to consider buying theatre tickets for friends and family this holiday season.  Or me… I like theatre tickets….
